I know you read all the blergs and the tweets but I feel like this comment was overlooked while he was being interviewed live.

I’ve met Apple Store managers—Managers—who told me that they got rid of their Macs because iPhone does everything they need. Now Apple’s CEO says his (admittedly hot stock-market-pleasing) tablet is doing a “significant percentage” of his computing.

But such is the reality of a service so indebted (and, really, so focused) on the web instead of mobile. These guys sure know how to make delightful services, though, I’m sure they won’t be unemployed for long.

Less of a bummer for the service in particular, but now we’ve seen two start ups in this space close, as Photovine shut down immediately during beta.

Perhaps this is part of the larger story in silicone valley and the world of apps. The idea will forever be better than the execution. Felt like so much here, though.

New Desk Set Up

I’m been trying to write more frequently for years. But there’s something missing in my set up (desk, MacBook Air 11”, iPad Mini and iPhone 5).

But now, maybe a set up involving a simple keyboard only for the iPad is what I need. Right now its a logitech keyboard case meant for a full size iPad.

I’m not sure this keyboard is what I want for typing: I might go Apple Wireless Keyboard and use the Smart Cover for a stand.

Now where did I put all of my chargers?

By now, that buzz is a distant memory. Last week #Music fell out of iOS’s top 100 free music apps; it currently sits at #113, shoulder-to-shoulder with Last.fm. Even worse, for a natively social company like Twitter, is the deafening silence. If people are using it, they’re staying very quiet about it. Failure is hardly a taboo in the startup world, but coming this soon after a much-feted launch, it raises the obvious question: can #Music survive in one of the hottest, most competitive spaces in the industry?

The weirdest thing is that none of the high profile twitter employees are tweeting anything from or about it
